Nigeria Customs Records Improved First Quarter Success

The Federal Operations Unit Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service says the quality of seizures made in the first quarter of 2016 has surpassed that made during same period in 2015.
The Comptroller of the Unit, Mohammed Dahiru, said this during an inspection of new seizures in Lagos.
He said that men of the command effected seizures in 481 operations between January and April this year with a duty-paid-value of over 600 million Naira compared to the 628 operations within the same period in 2015, worth 428 million Naira in duty-paid-value.
The Comptroller warned the dealers of offending and prohibited goods to invest their monies in legitimate businesses or continue to‎ loose them in seizures.
He further noted that men of the Nigeria Customs Service would continue to suppress smuggling and facilitate legitimate trade.
