The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ibrahim Jalo, has said Nigerian youths stand to be the biggest beneficiaries of the 2016 budget if fully implemented.
Jalo spoke during an interview in Abuja, on Monday. He explained that the APC was a youth-friendly party which remained committed to laying a solid foundation for Nigeria.
He explained that the APC was about inclusion and as such, the 2016 budget was designed to harness the best of Nigerian youths for national development.
He noted that the Information Technology sector had the capacity to create up to 40 million jobs or more within a few years.
He said the impact this would have on youths and the overall economy would be tremendous.
Jalo said, “With the social intervention scheme placed in the Appropriations Bill by the Federal Government, including the youth empowerment scheme and Graduate Entrepreneurship Fund, youths will have the opportunity, when it presents itself, to receive loans at a specific interest rate, and in some cases obtain collateral as simple as presenting your NYSC certificate.”
