Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo’s volley strike
against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena has been named the UEFA Champions
League goal of the quarter-finals, as presented by Nissan.
Ronaldo beat out competition from Paulo Dybala, Marco
Asensio, Kylian Mbappe and Falcao
The strike got Real, who are the reigning champions, a 2-1
victory over Bayern Munich in Germany, before the Blancos booked their
semi-final place in the second leg.
Ronaldo’s teammate, Marco Asensio, earned a nomination for
his solo run and neat finish that rounded off a 4-2 extra-time win over Bayern
in the second leg.
Juventus forward Paulo Dybala was overlooked after his
sensational near-post finish versus Barcelona.
Monaco duo Kylian Mbappe and Falcao rounded off the
nominees.
Mbappe was up for the gong following his fabulous strike
against Dormtund, while Falcao earned a nod for his flying header that helped
secure the Ligue 1 club’s passage to the final four.
