The family and friends of a late preacher, Deaconess Eunice
Elisha Olawale, have paid their final respect to the deceased, who was murdered
in Kubwa, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Olawale, who is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of
God (RCCG), was sharing the Christian doctrine when she was attacked and killed
on the street.
She was buried on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
According to reports, the order to murder the victim was
given by an Islamic cleric, who reportedly told her to leave the area.
Youths of the area, in an apparent resentment for the
preacher pelted stones at her until she was killed.
Olawale’s death has caused sadness to Christians and highly
placed members of the society, such as Oludolapo, the wife of the
Vice-President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
The General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, also
paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
The killing of the innocent woman, who was only sharing the
word of God according to her Christian belief, brings to recall the intolerance
for people practicing other religion in the Muslim dominated north.
