Rivers State Governor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has declared war on miscreants, hoodlums and cultists who have been maiming and destroying life and property in the state.
Governor Wike made the declaration on Thursday at the State Judiciary premises when he commissioned 57 cars he gave to serving magistrates in the state.
Wike who admitted that Rivers is facing security challenges, said his administration has “declared total war on the so-called cultists and we will not allow them go free.”
According to him, during a security meeting with the country’s Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, he pointed out that part of the problems faced in the Niger Delta region is caused by the multinational companies while the killings in the state are supremacy contests by cult groups.
He said: “We have a security meeting with the Acting President, the Vice President of this country and I did said, part of the problems we are having are from the multinational companies.
