Rivers State Gov­ernor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has declared war on mis­creants, hoodlums and cultists who have been maiming and destroy­ing life and property in the state.

Governor Wike made the declaration on Thurs­day at the State Judiciary premises when he com­missioned 57 cars he gave to serving magistrates in the state.
Wike who admitted that Rivers is facing se­curity challenges, said his administration has “de­clared total war on the so-called cultists and we will not allow them go free.”
According to him, during a security meet­ing with the coun­try’s Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, he pointed out that part of the problems faced in the Niger Delta region is caused by the multina­tional companies while the killings in the state are supremacy contests by cult groups.
He said: “We have a se­curity meeting with the Acting President, the Vice President of this country and I did said, part of the problems we are having are from the multinational compa­nies.
