A
male student and his female counterpart have been sentenced to two
months imprisonment, each, by an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court for hawking
fuel in jerry can along Abuja-Kubwa expressway.
Eze Onyedikachi (24) and Omowunmi Job (23), of Kubwa and Dutse Makaranta respectively, were convicted for perpetuating nuisance, offence that contradicts section 199 of the Penal Code.

He said the accused hawked fuel in front of NIPCO filling station, along Kubwa expressway, having known that the practice has been prohibited within the FCT.
The prosecutor added that such act constitutes an embarrassment to the Federal Government of Nigeria and danger on the public highway.
When the charge was read to the accused, they pleaded guilty and were sentenced to two months imprisonment each, by the judge, Mohammed Marafa, with an option of N2,000 fine each.
