A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairmanship
candidate, Professor Tunde Adeniran said
the party under his watch would win
majority of the 36 states and the presidency in 2019.
According to a statement issued by Mr. Taiwo Akeju, Director
of Media and Publicity in Abuja yesterday, Adeniran made the declaration while
addressing leaders, delegates and key stakeholders from the North Central
Geo-Political zone who paid him a solidarity visit.
He assured that party faithful who were frustrated out of
the party as a result of impunity and unfair treatment meted out to them would
find new basis to return to the party.
Professor Adeniran promised that with the mandate of party
members as chairman, the unity of the party in the spirit of reconciliation and
ensured internal democracy and guaranteed fairness to all.
The delegation had stated in their opening remarks that they
were fascinated by the proven capacity, integrity and experience of Professor
Tunde Adeniran as chronicled in his profile.
Chief Chidi Okolo, a chieftain and member of the Board of
Trustees (BoT) of the party has appealed to the Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed
Markafi factions to embrace truce stressing that party has nothing to gain from
endless leadership crisis.
Okolo, in a statement said the factions must unite to help
the party reclaim power in 2019.
He said an urgent peace meeting between the Sheriff and the
Makarfi factions would help the factions to put their differences aside and
make peace.
Okolo contended that
PDP as a formidable party should be able to resolve its crisis amicably.
