JAMB Withdraws 2016 Admission Letters Sent To School

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB says all initial 2016 admission lists sent to tertiary institutions are to be withdrawn, institutions are now to make their own lists to the board, in line with the federal government guidelines. Published a few weeks ago, which highlighted a points tally system.

In a statement by the public relations officer to JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, the withdrawal has become necessary, following a directive from the ministry of education

The statement further said it regrets all inconveniences the withdrawal has caused institutions, parents and students alike, while advising that institutions begin immediate withdrawal and preparation of their own lists to ensure admissions are concluded in the stipulated time.

Jamb had earlier asked institutions to ignore the minister’s guidelines as seen on their website which had made provision for candidates scoring points based on their unified tertiary matriculation examination scores over grades and number of sittings
