Governor Obiano publicly asks Ex-governor Peter Obi for forgiveness

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has publicly apologized to his predecessor, Mr Peter Obi, asking him to forgive and forget anything he might have done to him.

The former and present Governors (Peter Obi and Willie Obiano) were old students of the Christ the King College, Onitsha. Their paths crossed at the burial mass of their School Principal Reverend Father Nicholas Tagbo, and Obiano swallowed his pride, despite the crowd, and apologised on the premises of their alma mater.
He repeatedly said how sorry he was in the presence of thousands of former schoolmates and a large number of priests who were there to honour the late renowned teacher and principal.
That move instantly gained Governor Obiano favors and love from the people of Anambra State as they hailed him for his humility and peaceful nature.
Reacting to the development, Governor Willie Obiano said that he deemed it wise to make the move in the spirit of the late Reverend Father who taught them love and forgiveness.
Former Governor Peter Obi in his reaction said that as Christians, it is important to forgive and whatever they, as leaders are doing, the interest of the children of Anambra State should be paramount.
The Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Onitsha and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, blessed the reconciliation.
