he Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier-General
Charles Ofoshe, has declared that the Nigerian Army is battle-ready for
criminals in the state, saying criminals will be fished out of their hideouts.
He also said the military and other security agencies would
continue to protect the lives and property of the people of the state.
Ofoshe said this on Friday while receiving some communication
gadgets given by a businessman, Chief Rotimi Ibidapo, in Akure, the state
capital.
The army boss said his men were on the ground in
collaboration with other security agents to maintain law and order in the
state.
The commander said the equipment would be judiciously used
for effective security communication and strengthening of security in the
state.
Ibidapo, who was accompanied to the brigade by the Deji of
Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, noted that peace was imperative to the
development of any community, adding that there was a need for
government-private partnership on security issues.
He said, “If there is no peace, there will not be
investment. Relatively, that is a key factor to the development of the state.
All this cannot be left in the hands of the government alone.”
