37 Soldiers Injured in Kano Accident

At least 37 soldiers were injured when a military truck conveying the soldiers was involved in an accident along Kano- Gaya road on Friday.The State sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Mr. Aminu Umar, confirmed the accident to reporters.

He said the mishap occurred around 9am when the military truck which was conveying 36 soldiers led by Maj. R. O. Alieze had brake failure in Gaya town of Gaya local government area of the state.

He said the injured soldiers had since been taken to General Hospital Dutse in for medical treatment.

“It was our rescue team in Widil that conveyed the victims to General Hospital, Gaya, where they are now receiving medical attention,” he said.

The sector Commander also dismissed the rumour being peddled that some of the soldiers died in the crash.

It was also learned from an eyewitness that the military truck with registration number NA1716 BO5, was travelling to Dutse in Jigawa State when the accident occurred .
